Academic

Simon is Senior Curator of Modern and Contemporary Performance at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and Head of Performance on the Royal College of Art‘s History of Design MA programme.

Simon has lectured on undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Royal Holloway, University of London, the University of Winchester and Syracuse University, New York. For more information on Simon’s academic positions please see Teaching.

Simon is External Examiner for Wimbledon College of Art‘s Costume Design and Costume Interpretation BA and part of the supervisory team for a PhD on the Association of British Theatre Technicians at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Simon is Chair of the Society for Theatre Research, Convenor of the Popular Performance Working Group at the Theatre and Performance Research Association and a member of the International Federation for Theatre Research (Popular Entertainments Working Group).

In addition, he is Chair of the Blackpool Museum Academic Advisory Board and a member of the Shakespeare North Project Team.
