Panto Day was founded in 2010. Since then it has grown into a worldwide celebration of the performance genre, involving over two hundred companies and theatres across the globe. 2012’s Panto Day reached 1.5 million Twitter users and was referenced on BBC Two’s Newsnight. The purpose of the day is to celebrate the art form, share good practice, and encourage interaction across all sectors. In 2012, Simon was interviewed by BBC Radio London, BBC Radio Newcastle and BBC Radio Berkshire to speak about pantomime and its traditions and appeared on BBC Radio 5 LIVE with David Hasselhoff to discuss the genre and the impact of celebrity.
